CHOCOLATE MINT SQUARES

Ingredients

  • FOR BROWNIE LAYER
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 16 oz (1 1/2 cup) Hershey syrup
  • FOR FROSTING LAYER
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 TBSP creme de menthe (or mint flavoring)
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • FOR GLAZE LAYER
  • 6 oz (1 generous cup) chocolate chips
  • 6 TBSP butter

Method

FOR BROWNIE LAYER

  1. Beat eggs (It is enough to use a fork).
  2. Beat sugar with butter until smooth.
  3. Add hershey syrup and vanilla
  4. Add flour
  5. Blend until smooth
  6. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes in a greased 9X13 pan.
  7. Cool in pan

FOR FROSTING LAYER

  1. Mix all ingredients together
  2. Beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Spread over cooled cake.

FOR GLAZE LAYER

  1. Melt butter and chocolate chips together
  2. Cool
  3. Spread over frosting / mint layer
  4. Chill in refrigerator until serving
